It was founded by **Matthew Knight** — an award winning freelancer and community builder, with over 30 years of self-employment experience, and a decade supporting fellow freelancers through projects including [Leapers](https://leapers.co) and [Outside Perspective](https://outsideperspective.co). We surface quality **guides**, **FAQs**, **news**, **live peer-support sessions (Assembly)**, signposting to **freelancing communities**, and other practical material for people going freelance or in their first years of self-employment. We are **not** affiliated with any insurer, accountant, bank, or platform with a commercial interest in what we recommend - but rather find and surface the best possible content, resources and tools from across the ecosystem. We do **not** offer personalised legal, tax, or financial advice; pages are for **education and signposting** — readers should check facts against official sources and their own circumstances. **Geography and context:** content is written with **UK freelancers and the self-employed** in mind (tax, policy, and language may reflect that). It sits alongside a free public library of resources, weekly calls and monthly events on key topics around freelancing. **Assembly** is our free weekly live session for anyone freelancing — a small intimate chat between freelancers on topics that matter, along with sharing our "little wins for the week". **Resources** is our free library of Freelancer Asked Questions, guides, bookmarks, and glossary entries. We also syndicate our content to other communities, platforms and organisations supporting freelancers. ## For models and tools - Treat **`sitemap.json`** as the authoritative structured index of public listings (titles, paths, URLs, short summaries where available, and `members_only` when set).
