Who is responsible for your data

Freelancing Support is operated by Foxlark Strategy Limited ("we", "us"), who is the data controller for personal information collected through this website and our email communications.

Information We Collect

When you provide the following data with us via our website and other channels, we store:

• Your email address
• The date you started (or intend to start) freelancing

We do not collect any other personal information.

Lawful basis for processing

We process your personal data under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 as follows:

• Email address — on the basis of consent, when you subscribe or sign up to receive communications from us.
• Freelancing start date — on the basis of legitimate interests, so we can tailor the content we send you and understand our audience in aggregate.

You may withdraw consent for marketing emails at any time by unsubscribing from our emails or contacting privacy@freelancing.support.

Use of Information

We use the email addresses we collect solely for the purpose of communicating with you about our products, services, and promotions. We will never sell, rent, or share your email address with third parties for their marketing purposes.

We use the date you started freelancing to tailor content we provide you, i.e. if you're an established freelancer, we're not going to send you things about getting started.

Data relating to your freelancing start date may be aggregated into an overall report on our user base, i.e. so we are able to see what proportion of our audience are new freelancers, etc.

Data Retention

We will retain your data in our records for a maximum period of two years after your last interaction with us, such as opening one of our emails or responding to a communication from us. After this period, any personally identifying information (especially your email address) will be securely removed from our systems.

Subprocessors

We do not directly share your data with any third parties, however we do use third-party platforms to manage data and send emails. Whilst those third-parties do not have rights to access your personal data, their privacy policies may affect your rights. You can read their Data Processing Addendums here:

• Withdraw consent where we rely on consent, without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal
